Ronald, also known as Ronnie, was rescued from a farmer, along with his best friend Bernie. They were both adopted by JP Farm Animal Sanctuary through Farm Sanctuary‘s adoption network.
When I first met Ronnie, to my surprise, he came right up to me. Ronnie spent the majority of the next hour plus following me around, showing off his beautiful feathers, and dancing around me. He would circle around, inching closer and closer to me until he was right against me, while periodically emitting a “tick” followed by low frequency drumming noise. All the while, he looked at me with this adorable, sly, little face you see here. I felt as if I could see straight through to his soul. I saw an innocent being who just wanted to be seen, who wanted to be loved, and who wanted to live.
Ronnie will live the rest of his life at JP Farm Animal Sanctuary surrounded by people who see him and love him for who he is. He will get to live out the rest of his natural life free from harm.
